2nd Delaware-Raritan Canal Coker Unicycle Ride

The 2nd Canal Coker Unicycle ride is at June 10 2006 at 11:00 AM in Piscataway NJ. It does not have to be a long ride... depends on consensus... Rain date is June 11. Shoot me an e-mail 90 min before if the weather is iffy. There may be places to go to lunch on the way but it may be safer to bring your lunch.
Coker Unicycle Ride:
The ride would start in Johnson Park at East Jersey Olde Towne Village.
East along bike path.
Right turn onto South on Franklin Blvd (609) (first intersection).
Go across the Raritan, but stop before bridge over canal.
Dismount (unless your really talented) and walk unicycles across bumpy rocks to the right (west).
Ride west along the Delaware-Raritan Canal Tow Path (this is less than 1 mile from start). (East from here the path is narrow and the canal continues only for another block).
What is really cool about this ride is:
40+ miles of trail mostly packed dirt (with mile markers). There are a few challenging stone segments, which can be easily walked, if necessary.
No cars.
Teeming with wild-life. BIRDS, turtles, deer.
One side of the trail is the canal and the other side is the Raritan river.
Free cultural sites along route. East Jersey Olde Towne Village and the Van Wickle House.
Bike friendly for those in need of an extra wheel.
Impossible to get lost.
99% shaded for those hot summer days.
Bathrooms near start in Johnson Park.
Down side (I have to strain myself here):
Poison ivy on side of trail (I have to duck on my 43" at times...)
Hmmm can't think of anything else... except that its in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Directions:
From the North: Exit 129 from Garden State Parkway for 440 West and I287 North (440 becomes I287)
Exit 9 from 287, then keep right for River Road South (622)

From the South: Exit 127 from Garden State Parkway for 440 West and I287 North (440 becomes I287)
Exit 9 from 287, then keep left for River Road South (622)

After 2.5 miles on River Road (about 4 lights) make right into park on Johnson Drive (also intersection of Hoes Lane West).
Road bends to the left and then park at Olde Towne Village (early? check out the Village).
I will be there with bagels and cream cheese, if you have a unicycle.
